MAC Sculpting Powder-Shadowy-REVIEW

The Ultimate Contour powder

MAC Sculpting Powder, MAC shadowy, Contour powder, bronzer When I was younger I remember seeing my cousin putting on bronzer. I go “what is that? That powder looks too dark for you”. – She goes “No, no it’s a bronzer, its post to make you look more tan”. WELL!!! I had no idea what I was doing and applied it all over my face! – Please don’t do this- you’ll look like you applied mud all over your face.

Today’s topic is bronzing/contouring! So why do we bronze and contour? –It’s a technique we do to shape our face. Giving it dimensions. Looks FANTASTIC in photos! – My favorite part? It hides your double chin =) Bronzing VS Contouring= Bronzing just warms up the face giving you color and that summer tan glow like the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Contouring is more detailed sculpting your face making it look thinner looking like the Kardashians.

MAC Sculpting Powder-Shadowy $16.50, this is a PRO Mac product, meaning you can only get it at the PRO Mac store (a special MAC store very few available) OR MAC  online. Shadowy is a matte ashy dark tone brown contour powder.

PACKING: This product comes in a small envelope like –like the MAC single eye shadows .

PERFORMACE: This product applies smooth, and blends very nice. The face that there is no shimmer/glitter it’s Perfect for contouring. The first swatch can be sheer but it buildings up beautifully without looking caking. = Basically NO COMPLAINTS. MAC Sculpting Powder, MAC shadowy, Contour powder, MAC shadowy swatch Shade/Color= this is one of the darkest contour powders I have ever seen. Which is great for girls with deeper/tan skin. You want your contour to look like a shadow making it look more natural compare to a orangey bronzer.

Let’s Compare . . .

Benefit Hoola, bronzer, MAC contour, MAC shadowy, MAC bronzer   Meet Benefit Hoola Bronzer, I’ve been using this for YEARS. This is even the old packing! I use this product all the time and I can’t seem to hit pan. (lol) . Benefit Hoola, is a medium tone matte bronzer. It’s darker than what it looks like in the pan. Benefit Hoola, bronzer, MAC contour, MAC shadowy, MAC bronzer Hoola is in a cardboard box packing while Shadowy comes in a metal pan. Honestly, I hate Hoola’s packing! It’s inconvenient, bulky, and annoying. Benefit Hoola swatch, MAC shadowy swatch, Bronzer, contour powder, MAC sculpting powder Looking at them swatch next to each other you can see that Hoola is lighter and slightly warmer.  Hoola is pretty cool tone but since Shadowy is so cool toned it makes it seem warmer. I actually think Hoola applies better because it’s smoother. You can see Shadowy is slighty patchy next to Hoola. Both are high quality and long lasting. –But sometimes I can feel that Hoola can look cakey the end of the day.

Conclusion/Recommendations: So what do I think of MAC Shadowy? “Uhh…Where have you been all my life”?! – I’ve had a hard time finding a bronzer that’s the perfect shade. Everything is either too warm or not dark enough. BUT! If you are looking for a natural look and something just to add color to your face-This is NOT for you. This power is for that dramatic Kim K look. This will not give you that sun-kiss glow. Since this product is build-able, fair-light skin girls can still use this. You just have to be light handed while using this product. But for my tan/deep skin viewers this a highly recommended product. If you’re a beginner and want to try sometime that’s easier to apply without looking too harsh I’ll recommend the Hoola bronzer. I’ve been using it for years and it has never failed me. What’s pretty awesome is since this is a cool toned brown I could double up and use this as a brow powder.

RATINGS= ***** 4/5 STARS Once again, I thank you for reading. I hope you find this post helpful Peace, Love,

TIPS:  To get the perfect look I would bronze the face with a warmer bronzer/powder then ONLY apply Shadowy (darker shade) to the places that need in which are the hollow of the cheeks and jaw lines.

    • Yay!! Your welcome! I actually been using the hoola first then putting the Mac on very edges and it gives it the perfect look. You don’t have to buy both but if you own a lighter shade bronzer it should do the same thing. =) thank you for reading!
